New luxury establishment Hôtel Bachaumont opened its doors in July in the heart of Paris, between the rue Montorgueil and rue Montmartre. In a few weeks, this former clinic has become the neighborhood’s hip hotspot. It owes its success to its Le Night Flight and Le Bachaumont restaurant managed by the Experimental Cocktail Club team.
In 2007, three childhood friends then aged 25 imported a made in USA concept by launching their first cocktail bar in Paris: the Experimental Cocktail Club (or ECC). Today, they head a dozen establishments in London, New York, Ibiza and Paris, including the Beef Club, Ballroom and Grand Pigalle.
Why you should go
To put it simply, chef Gregory Marchand, of Frenchie fame, oversees the menu. The main dining room is filled with light, thanks to its glass ceiling and clear view of the open kitchen. The presentation is refined, the recipes simple but reworked, as with the poireau vinaigrette or eggs mimosa. If you have a big appetite, Oli recommends cutting into the delicious rib steak.
Whether it’s for a work breakfast, lunch with colleagues or dinner with friends, it’s a very safe bet.Say goodbye to the far too classic lunches near the rue Étienne Marcel, or Marie Stuart’s greasy burgers. The Bachaumont is the fancy cafeteria of the moment.
